I live at Flatiron near LSU and overall it’s been a positive experience in many ways. The location is excellent, just a short walk to campus, local restaurants, and tailgating at Tiger Stadium. The apartments are modern and come with amenities like furnished units, washer/dryer in-unit, and access to clubhouse, gym, yoga studio, and pool areas. There are also study lounges and communal spaces that are great for student living. In terms of fees, all of the standard fees — such as the application... fee, utility service fee, parking fees, and any pet fees are disclosed in the lease and community documents. According to public listings and the official cost disclosures, the community includes required fees like a one-time utility service fee (for things like internet and basic utilities) and optional fees such as parking or pet fees, and these are listed up front, unlike other reviews state. Customer service and management responsiveness can vary like any large community, sometimes it takes a bit of follow-up to get questions answered or concerns addressed, but in my experience issues have been handled reasonably once brought to management’s attention. Overall, I’d give Flatiron a solid recommendation for students looking for newer, convenient housing near LSU just be sure to carefully review all lease terms and fee disclosures before signing, as everything is typically spelled out in the contract.

I’ve lived at Flatiron LSU Apartments and overall it’s a pretty solid place to live. The location is one of the biggest positives since it’s very close to campus and makes getting to class or games easy. The apartments are modern, furnished, and generally comfortable, and the amenities like the pool, gym, and study areas are nice and convenient. That said, there are a few minor issues that could be improved. Maintenance can sometimes take longer than expected, and there are occasional small... quality or noise issues that come with student housing. Management is okay overall, but communication could be more consistent. Overall, Flatiron is a good option for students who want to live close to LSU with decent amenities. It’s not perfect, but the flaws are fairly minor and could be addressed to make the experience even better.

This is a review of just our experience with The Flatiron before move in, so far we have been charged an additional $120. in fees which were NOT disclosed in the lease. When we call the property regarding these fees we are given very poor customer service, and basically told that it is what it is. I have never had such an awful experience when renting. Unfortunately our lease has already been signed and without many other choices we are stuck with this very unfair addition of undisclosed fees.... Although we have called and expressed our concern we have not been given any recourse. I just caution any prospective tenants to beware of this business' propensity for changing terms at their discretion.
